Meet Our Clinical Director
Forever Hope Counseling & Educational Services began in 2012 after Sandra Salazar spent over 20 years in various roles as an educator and counseling professional. She is in the process of completing her dissertation to earn her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. Sandra received extensive diagnostic training in clinical diagnosis and treatment of: Autism Spectrum, ADHD, Selective Mutism as well as a variety of behavioral disorders. She enjoys teaching, consulting and leading other counseling professionals in the mental health field! Her team uses an Integrative Theoretical Approach such as: Expressive Arts in Counseling, Neurologically Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), behavioral approaches, Internal Family Systems, Existentialism as well as other evidence-based approaches.
She is frequently requested as a guest speaker in educational settings, churches and mental health organizations. Sandra is a member of the following professional organizations: American Counseling Association with a divisional membership in Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling. She is also a member of the Texas Counseling Association (TCA) with a specialization in Counselor Education and Supervision. She also holds a Dialectical Behavior Therapy National Certification and Accreditation Association (DBTNCAA). She became a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) in 2021.
Sandra is an advocate for daily exercise, healthy nutrition and sleep habits, and regular meditation and prayer time. She balances her professional life with time for play and travel with her friends & family.
